The Moms' decided it was time for a end of school year field trip....so first was the jell-o museum.

Next was the fish hatchery
It was great just walking around and looking at all the fish in the holding tanks
The men that were working there were taking fish off a truck and putting them back in the water at the hatchery using this big hose that spit the fish out. It was really neat!

The boys found someone to answer their questions. This guy was really nice and helpful. He answered all of our questions and gave us a big bag of food to feed to the fish!
Inside are the "incubator" tanks for the young fish. There are 25,000 to 30,000 fish in each one. The black is all fish.

They went crazy over the food. It was just one big mass of mouths, fins and tails.

The really helpful guy also got a net and caught the one and only sturgeon so we could touch it.
The older trout that will stay there for good.

Nathan our trainman was fascinated to see this as we had a picnic by the hatchery's creek.

Wow, Where was the Jello Museum?
Jello museum in the town where it was invented! Leroy, NY. I've been to that hatchery - neat place!
WOW! Look at all those fish. It reminds me of when the disciples were fishing and caught nothing. When Jesus told them to cast their nets out again their nets were breaking because of all the fish in them. This really gives a great picture for that story. I have never heard of the Jello museum either...umm, did you EAT any Jello while you were there? LOL! Love you all! :)
Nope Sally, no samples there unfortunately- but they did send us home w/ about 14 boxes of orange jello for doing a scavenger hunt. :)
