A Suprise Visit!

We couldn't believe who showed up in our living room all ready to stay for 10 days. Dana, Lisa and Mary---from 5,000 miles away! Only Mom and Dad knew they were coming and they kept their secret well. :)
Dana helping decide which cows should go goodbye
Our adorable niece who most of us have not seen for 2 years. We had so much fun with her!
She loved the kittens!

She's such a little farm girl
"Ew, the cow just licked my hair!"

Micah had to get his deer butchered so Dana jumped into help.

Mr. G., an old friend of ours also came to pick up a bull we were using. He always looks forward to homemade cookies, milk and a chat with Mom and Dad.
Flyin' High

Dana grilled venison tenderloin steaks for dinner and they were soooo yummy.

Mary and Joanna LOVE teaparties and they had plenty of those.

S'moring together! (Thanks for the new "term" Lisa, hehe)

Sunday we spent the day with friends from church which involved volleyball, boating and swimming. (and eating, of course)

Mary had a ball in the water. She played and played for a long time.

All of us girls jumped out to swim and left Kara to defend herself from a boy attack. They won't do too much with that paddle over their heads!

Enjoying the nice warm rocks

Everybody likes to play farm!

Then the dollhouse comes out.

Mary had so much fun with Aunt Jo!

Standing in a safe place watching her aunties and uncles chase cows into the barn to ship.
A sister-in-law is to help you fold the mountains of laundry that come flooding off the lines. Thanks Lisa! :)

Busy little chore girl.

She LOVES being outside and helping with chores. The one day she was crying when she found out that the cows had already been milked that morning.

...so she got to help Aunt Kay that night instead.

Making cherry pies
Dana was awesome. He built us two chicken cages that we had been needing to get built for quite a while.

Nathan was his handy helper with the pinner
As you can see, she is riding the calf. She wanted to ride a cow more than she wanted to ride the horses!

Dana and Lisa, feeding the steers

Going for a ride to the next pasture

Determined Mary, shoveling feed. ;)

Ah, we miss y'all!

There will be more pictures to come but this is all for now.
